Sunday News Bites: October 21st

Hello and welcome to another edition of Sunday News Bites! It’s been a bit of a slow news week, but never let it be said that we on the Sunday News Bites team aren’t experts at scraping the bottom of the barrel to bring you a few titbits of mild interest! Today’s guest is Shion from Higurashi Kai, who we hauled in shortly before she went on a killing spree.

Higurashi Kai: Now you can watch your violence online
Are you sick of TV channels cancelling the broadcast of your favourite bloodbaths? In response, animate.tv has decided to stream each episode online for free, starting with episode 12 on October 24th. Each episode can be watched free of charge for a week, although Windows, IE and a Japanese I.P. (or a way around these restrictions) are required.Shion says: Mwahaha, now everyone can watch my fun-fun torture chamber! Oh wait, that was last season.

Death Note movies hit the UK
The two Death Note live action movies will premiere in the UK on November 10th-11th at the Leeds Film Festival. Other films to be screened include Vexille, Tekkonkinkreet and manga adaptations Freesia and Strawberry Shortcakes (not to be confused with the children’s cartoon).
Shion says: That’s it, Light, kill them all- but don’t just use your book! Get your hands dirty, man!

Merchandising gone mad: Shin-chan cologne
If you’re looking for an alternative to the endless range of scents put out by B-list celebrities, then look no further- now you can have your own Crayon Shin-chan eau de toilette, complete with a fresh, fruity and musky scent. But don’t despair if you aren’t into Shin-chan, because you can also pick up Pokemon, Spongebob and Mickey Mouse fragrances- you’ll be the envy of all your friends.
Shion says: The smell of citrus will help to cover up the scent of decaying bodies in my dungeon.
